ABOUT ME

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the saying "Carpe diem". Which basically means, "Seize the day".

My whole life has been loosely based on that saying. You see, I'm the type of guy who lives life to the fullest, because you never know what happens next. Like how, I'm sure you ask.

Well, when I had a chance to run an airport in South Africa, I took it. When I had a chance to organise events, I took it. When I was given a second chance to go back and pursue my education, I took it.

I guess all I'm saying is that I don't take things for granted, because like I said, life is full of fleeting moments. From the time you had your first kiss, when you first got your license, when you just packed up and left for a crazy road trip to Penang, or just simply fell backwards laughing.

Those are the moments that you just can't bring back. Like water that slips through your fingers, each drop leaves your heart longing for the ability to turn back time just so you can savour every bit once again.

Of course there are also the memories that we would all love to forget. Like falling into a puddle of mud after you've just bought your new white pants and matching white shirt. Or when you asked your father what that new word you heard in school meant because since he's used it, he must know.

But honestly, those shouldn't bother us right? Forgive and forget, they say. It's the memories you want to cherish forever that matter.

And that's where I come in.

I decided to become a photographer when I realised that I can help anyone relive their cherished moments. And your wedding is as beautiful a moment as any. That was when I knew, just knew, that I had to be a wedding photographer.

I see couples everyday. I myself have come to know many and have been part of a few. But the true epitome of partnership can be seen not only on the day that they exchange vows, but also on the days before and after. When you catch them sharing a meal, lost in each other's glances or when they walk hand in hand down the street, tasting the sweet air, knowing that they have each other.

To know that these two people who are deeply in love can look back in fondness at the tangibility of it in years, maybe months, weeks or even days to come after their wedding brings a sense of satisfaction to me. The simple fact that I contributed in some way to someone's happiness always makes me smile. I'm empathetic that way, I guess.

I also happen to believe that we should always represent who we really are. And that is why you have come to this page and you don't see a formal biography.

No stiff upper-lip thing. Because even though I may be professional, but I am still human after all. One who is able to share your sorrow, grief, but more importantly, your joy and happiness.

And that is my introduction to you, and to the world.

It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Iskandar Ibrahim. Wedding Photographer.
